The Full Circle Campus Food Pantry raised 11,384 pounds of food through their Homecoming 5K Food Drive, the “5Kans Razorback 5K Race.” Students were required to donate a minimum of five cans to participate in the Homecoming 5K, which will be held Thursday, Nov. 1, at 5 p.m.

Angela Oxford, the director for the center of community engagement, sends a message of thanks to all those who participated. “A sincere thank you to everyone who donated. We are overwhelmed by the generosity. This is such an enormous gift for us. It will help us feed so many, and relieve the stress we feel when the shelves get low.”

The donations will provide meals to the University of Arkansas community. On average, Full Circle feeds 200 people per week.

The Full Circle Food Pantry is the first of it’s kind in the SEC. It was established by the Volunteer Action Center to provide emergency food assistance, as well as personal products, to all of the University of Arkansas community. The pantry has been such a success that they have assisted the University of Missouri in establishing a pantry of their own.  The University of Missouri visited Full Circle last year to learn the inner workings of the pantry, and continue to communicate with the students who run Full Circle regularly via e-mail. In addition the University of Missouri, Full Circle has shared information on how to start a pantry with 50 other college campuses.

To request assistance, visit fullcircle.uark.edu and click ‘Request Food’ to fill out a first time application and food request form. Forms may also be filled out at Full Circle during open hours. Full Circle is open Monday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The pantry is located in the Bud Walton Hall, which is the building between the Arkansas Union parking deck and Stadium Drive.
