Leadership Walton

The George W. Edwards Jr. Career Development Center in the Sam M. Walton College of Business is excited to announce a new feature of the Leadership Walton program: specialized tracks.

The goal for the program continues to be providing business students with the skills and experiences that are highly sought after in new college graduates. The new specialized tracks will allow more flexibility for participants to focus on certain areas of interest. Students will have the option to complete one or more of the specialized tracks, which will provide relevant skills and experiences to include on their resumes that will translate directly into the business world.

The first track to be introduced is the “Technology Track” (additional tracks will be introduced in spring 2013). To fulfill this track, students must complete at least four requirements from a list of technology related workshops and trainings. Examples include workshops presented by companies such as the Nielsen Company, CROSSMARK and Rockfish Interactive with topics ranging from “Introduction to Syndicated Data” and “The Analytic Process” to “Data Analysis” and “Social Media & Your Career”.

The Walton College Career Center has partnered with the Center for Retailing Excellence and the Graduate School of Business to offer these trainings each year to Walton College students. The workshops, and the Leadership Walton “Technology Track”, will help students become better prepared to enter the workforce.
