Looking for a Book: One Book, One Community Committee Seeks Nominations for 2013

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas One Book, One Community committee is starting the process of choosing the non-fiction book that will be read in the fall, 2013 project. The committee is accepting book nominations from anyone in the campus and Northwest Arkansas communities. All nominations will be considered by the committee.

Books nominated for the One Book, One Community project should meet the following criteria:

• Well written and engaging to a variety of readers

• "Fresh" enough that most readers haven’t read it

• Focused on a single subject, but addressing issues that can be considered in a variety interdisciplinary events, such as panel discussions, artistic performances, or film series

• Available in paperback, relatively inexpensive to buy and approximately 300 pages or less in length

• Written by a living author or authorial team

• Author is willing to travel to Northwest Arkansas to speak to the campus and community

 To nominate a book, send a brief email describing it and explaining how it meets the selection criteria to onebook@uark.edu by 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7. Any questions about the book selection process can be sent to the same address. The committee hopes to complete the selection process by early 2013.
