George Mason Professor to Talk About Art Education
Kimberly Sheridan
Kimberly Sheridan, an assistant professor of art education and educational psychology at George Mason University, will deliver a lecture Friday, Nov. 30, titled “Art and Thinking: The Real Benefits of Art Education” on the University of Arkansas campus.
Sheridan will speak at noon in Room 343 of the Graduate Education Building. Her lecture is part of the series sponsored by the department of education reform. The lecture is free and open to the public. Visit the lecture page to RSVP for lunch.
Sheridan’s research takes a sociocultural perspective on learning in the arts and media, with a particular focus on how this learning is situated in diverse and changing contexts with the advent of new digital technologies. She is particularly interested in envisioning how these can be innovative contexts of possibility for traditionally underserved groups.
