This Week in the Visual and Performing Arts: November 26-29

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences will hold many events after the Thanksgiving holiday including an art exhibition and many concerts. Students, faculty, staff and guests are encouraged to attend these on-campus and off-campus performances in the visual and performing arts.

Louise Bourgeois’ Topiary: The Art of Improving Nature exhibition may be seen in the Fine Arts Center Gallery from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays. The exhibition opened on Nov. 7 and will close on Thursday, Dec. 13.

Dallas Tucker’s percussion recital will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 26, in the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall.

The University of Arkansas Jazz Ensemble will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 27, in the Arkansas Union Theatre. The ensemble is an 18-piece jazz big band directed by professor James Greeson.

Brice Smith will hold a violin recital at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 28, in the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall.

The University of Arkansas Horn Choir will perform at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 29, in the Fine Arts Center’s Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall.

Also at 6 p.m. on Thursday, the University of Arkansas Horn Choir under the direction of professor Timothy Thompson will perform in the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall.

Following the Horn Choir concert, the University of Arkansas Tuba and Euphonium Ensemble will perform at 7:30 p.m. in the concert hall. The ensemble is directed by associate professor Benjamin Pierce.
