Stephanie Gragg, Employee of the First Quarter Winner

The university Staff Senate recognized Stephanie Gragg as Employee of the Quarter from the Secretarial/Clerical category, for the first quarter of fiscal year 2012-2013. Gragg has been an employee of the University of Arkansas since January 2007 and serves as an administrative assistant within the College of Education and Health Professions.

In his letter of nomination, Thomas E. C. Smith, dean of the College of Education and Health Professions, wrote “Stephanie is an initial point of contact for the entire college. She always stays calm and works through whatever problems are presented in a professional and very supportive fashion. When my assistant is out of the office, Stephanie becomes the point person for my office.”

Consistent themes throughout Stephanie’s nomination identified her as caring, warm, friendly, and as having a genuine willingness to assist in any way she could. In fact, her direct supervisor, Michael T. Miller, associate dean for academic affairs, acknowledged her traits in his statement, “Stephanie has been a bedrock of support for our students, our faculty, and especially, our professional staff who work directly with our students.” Dr. Miller continued on to state one of her biggest assets is her pleasant demeanor.

It is evident that Stephanie impacts not only her corner of the university but others throughout the university community as well. Employees such as Stephanie Gragg are a rare treasure and should be honored when the opportunity arises. Staff Senate would like to say “Thank you” for all you do for your department and for helping create an environment of unwavering service to the YOU of A community!
