FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas is accepting scholarship applications for the 2013-14 academic year. Scholarship applications and descriptions are available on the college’s website.

The college manages the application process for the J.W. and Elizabeth W. Fulbright Endowed Scholarship for Study Abroad as well as several general college scholarships.

“Fulbright College offers many opportunities for both need-based and merit-based funding,” said Robin Roberts, dean of the college. “We hope students will go to our website to find the scholarships that best suit their needs and interests.”

Applicants for general college scholarships must apply online using the scholarship application form. The application process will close at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, March 15, when the online application will no longer be available. Applicants will then be matched with scholarships for which they are eligible and applications will be evaluated.

Applications for the Fulbright Scholarship for Study Abroad may be downloaded from the scholarship page. The form and all materials must be received no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 1. They may be submitted to the Dean’s Office in room 525 of Old Main or mailed to the address provided on the application.

Other scholarships include those offered by individual academic departments, programs and centers as well as the Fulbright Honors Program. These may also be found via links on the college’s scholarships and fellowships page. Various awards are described, including contact information for additional details.

The applicant selected for the Fulbright Scholarship for Study Abroad will be notified in March, and applicants selected for the general college scholarships will be contacted in April. The Dean’s Office Scholarship Committee, comprised of the college’s associate deans, will make the final selections.
