Brian Henderson is the new director of employer relations for the College of Engineering. Before coming to Fayetteville, Henderson was director of career development, placement and student services for the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He has also worked at Arkansas Tech as a career development specialist.

“We are extremely happy to have Brian as a member of our student support team.  He brings a wealth of experience and a lot fresh ideas to the position,” said Norm Dennis, interim associate dean of the College of Engineering. “With less than a week on the job he is already making an impact on student placement.”

As director of employer relations, Henderson will focus on placing engineering graduates in jobs. He will also work to increase the number and quality of internship and cooperative education experiences for engineering students, and coordinate employer relations activities with the university’s Career Development Center.

Henderson is originally from Berryville, Ark. He received a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of the Ozarks and earned a Master of Education degree from Northwestern State University. His wife, Jaye, is director of clinical informatics for Arkansas Children’s Hospital. They have one son.

“I love helping students succeed in all areas of life and I have a goal to build relationships with local, regional, and national employers to increase employment opportunities for College of Engineering students,” said Henderson.
