Stanford Psychiatry Professor to Headline Symposium on Drug Addiction
Keith Humphreys, a professor of psychiatry at Stanford University School of Medicine, will give the keynote address during a daylong symposium on “Drug Addiction: Science and Society” that will take place in Little Rock but will be available by teleconference on the University of Arkansas campus in Fayetteville.
The symposium runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 15 and will be broadcast in Room 343 of the Graduate Education Building. Humphreys’ presentation is titled “How Researchers and Clinicians Can Make Better Public Policy for People with Addictions.” It will be broadcast at 1:30 p.m.
RSVP is required for the 55 available seats and can be done online.
Humphreys served as senior policy adviser to the White House on the Affordable Care Act of 2009-10 and is a senior research career scientist with the Veterans Health Administration.
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock is host of the symposium.
