The 2013 Red, White & True faculty and staff giving initiative is officially under way at the University of Arkansas! Now in its third year, this annual effort is designed to build an even better university from the inside out by uniting the campus community in support of our students and programs.

Between now and June 30, employees are invited to join in the effort by making a gift of any size to the area of campus that matters most to them.  The goal is participation, so everyone can contribute at a level that’s comfortable for them.  If you’ve already made a gift this fiscal year, thank you!  If not, packets will be hitting campus mailboxes soon, so please be on the lookout for your opportunity to get involved.

Over the coming weeks, a group of dedicated volunteers will also be reaching out to their areas of campus to help spread the word about and encourage participation in this year’s campus philanthropy program.  Following the lead of co-chairs Cyndi Nance and Mike Johnson, these captains are passionate about the university and proud to give back.

The 2013 captains are:

  • Paul Bixby – University Information Technology Services
  • Howard Brill – School of Law
  • Kim Bullard – College of Engineering
  • Renee Clay – Sam M. Walton College of Business
  • Kathy Comfort – J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences
  • Ethel Goodstein-Murphree – Fay Jones School of Architecture
  • Elizabeth Jordan – College of Education and Health Professions
  • Doug Moore – Facilities Management
  • Tim Nutt – University Libraries
  • Felisha Perrodin– Student Affairs
  • Douglas Rhoads – J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences
  • Lona Robertson – Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences
  • Curt Rom – Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences
  • Steve Voorhies – University Advancement
  • Kelly Westeen – Enrollment Services

"There are a number of very talented and deserving students attending the University of Arkansas today," said Lona Robertson, associate dean in the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences. "I give to show the students that I care about them and their future."

Since Red, White & True launched in 2011, the support of faculty and staff has already made a significant and tangible impact at the university.  Last year alone, a record 30% of current and retired employees collectively gave over half a million dollars to 230 different funds all across campus.  Please join the team and help us make this year the best yet!
