Science Café Tuesday to Focus on ‘Energy: Power for the People’

Energy sources being tapped for present and future use are the topic of the next Science Café sponsored by the University of Arkansas. A panel of experts will discuss what types of energy – solar, wind, fossil fuels, water, electrical and biofuels – should be used for power.

The Science Café will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, at Powerhouse Restaurant in Fayetteville.

Panel members will be Mike Johnson, associate vice chancellor for facilities, University of Arkansas; Gary Kahanak, director of the Northwest Arkansas regional office of Home Energy Rx; Christopher Liner, professor of geosciences, University of Arkansas; and Kate Shoulders, assistant professor of agricultural and extension education, University of Arkansas.

This event is free of charge, no registration is required, the public is welcome, and food and drink are available for purchase during the forum. Sponsors include the UA Chapter of Sigma Xi research society and the Arkansas Biosciences Institute.
