Minority Health Fair Scheduled for Thursday
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Circle of Support will host the “Got Health?” minority health fair from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Thursday, April 25, in the Connections Lounge of the Arkansas Union. This event is free and open to the public.
The event is designed to educate students and the public about health issues affecting minority communities and to provide attendees with local and statewide resources. This is the first time Circle of Support has hosted the health fair and they hope to make it an annual event.
The Circle of Support was founded in 2011 by social work student Amanda Price and Yvette Murphy-Erby, director of the School of Social Work. The founders envisioned the group as a place to foster support and cohesiveness among African American social work students.
The Circle of Support seeks to mentor, educate and support African American social work students and enhance professional development, conduct community service and promote retention.
