Annual Undergraduate Art Exhibition Open For Viewing This Week

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The department of art BA and BFA Annual Awards Exhibition will open at 9 a.m. Monday, April 29, and will continue Saturday, May 4. Held in the Fine Arts Center Gallery, the exhibit features work from current bachelor of arts and bachelor of fine arts students and will include pieces from all media, showcasing each program within the department and highlighting students’ multidisciplinary talents.

A reception will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, May 3, in the Fine Arts Center Gallery to recognize individual artists. Awards and scholarships will be presented during the event.

The exhibit will be open to the public from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.,Monday through Friday. It will also be available for viewing during the ARTwalk from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. May 4.

University of Arkansas Student Gallery, sUgAR Projects: Student Pop-Up Gallery, will host the Spring 2013 ARTwalk, with exhibitions at the Fine Arts Center and the Ceramics Studio at 326 S. Eastern Avenue. The venues will host work from the department of art in the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences and the departments of landscape architecture and interior design in the Fay Jones School of Architecture.

Professors and students will be available on Saturday to answer questions regarding their art. Additionally, the studios in the Fine Arts Center will be open for touring. Receptions will be held in the Fine Arts Center and Ceramics Studio and are free and open to the public.
