FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas has a new base in Little Rock. The space will be utilized by university staff members in advancement, enrollment services and any other university officials traveling to central Arkansas for business purposes. The establishment of the office is in response to the university’s desire to have a greater presence in the Little Rock area and to enhance relationships with the robust alumni and donor base that is located there.

“This space will give us the much-needed flexibility to carry on official university business in an area where we have a large concentration of alumni and prospective students,” said Chancellor G. David Gearhart.

The space, located in the Metropolitan Tower in downtown Little Rock, includes meeting places, a conference room and a patio that can be utilized for events. Staff members located solely in Little Rock, such as Director of Regional Advancement Programs Kathy Edgerton, will work from the location, which will provide increased opportunities for interaction with the Central Arkansas Advisory Committee members who live in the area. Any staff members traveling to central Arkansas will have the same opportunity.

“Little Rock is vital to our success as advancement professionals,” said Chris Wyrick, vice chancellor for university advancement. “This space will give them the opportunity to have a home base away from the Hill and will give them another venue option for meeting constituents and hosting events.”

The new space, on the 15th floor of the Metropolitan Tower, officially opens on Wednesday, May 22.
