FAYETTEVILLE, Ark -- The deadline for the 2013 Red, White & True faculty and staff giving effort is quickly approaching, but there's still time to get involved!  Gifts of all sizes made by June 30 will be counted and will help us top last year's record of 30% participation university-wide.

With only a week and a half remaining, 29 percent of faculty and staff — an impressive 1,389 individuals — have already participated in the annual philanthropy program. What's unique about Red, White & True is that employees can designate their gift to any area of campus that's meaningful to them. In fact, in the past two years alone, faculty and staff have supported 286 different funds on the Hill, ranging from specific colleges and departments to university-wide initiatives like KUAF, the Staff Senate Scholarship, the Full Circle Campus Food Pantry and the Diversity Affairs Extraordinary Need Fund.

Several departments have also reached or exceeded the inspirational 50 percent participation mark. University Relations and the Office of the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs are the newest departments to achieve this milestone, bringing the total to 34 departments with participation above 50 percent. To celebrate and say thanks, mini red velvet cupcakes and Red, White & True buttons will be delivered to these groups today.

Thanks to everyone who has already participated! Your gift makes a difference and your participation makes a statement that you believe in the purpose of our university and the promise of our students.

If you're thinking about making your commitment, now's the time. You can give online or visit the Red, White & True website for more information and additional giving options, including payroll deduction.
