Participants Needed for Research Studies

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- The Arkansas Interdisciplinary Sciences Laboratory at the University of Arkansas is conducting paid research studies focusing on adolescents and mothers and adolescent daughters.

One study is for adolescents ages 10 to 17 who have been bullied or been in a physical fight with a peer. To be eligible, participants must have been involved in a serious physical fight or been bullied, and their parent or guardian must be willing to accompany them to the lab. Those eligible will be paid $40 for completing the study, which involves filling out questionnaires and completing some lab tasks, including remembering and writing about the fight. The study takes about two-and-a-half to three hours.

Those interested should contact Emily Mischel at 479-575-3523 or ermische@uark.edu.

The other study is for mothers and daughters ages 10 to 14. Eligible mothers and daughters will each be paid $20. The two-hour study involves filling out questionnaires, a scripted task, and a breathing exercise in the laboratory. Fathers are not required to come to the lab but will have the opportunity to take an online survey and be paid $10.

Those interested should contact Ashley Knapp in the Arkansas Interdisciplinary Sciences Laboratory at 479-575-3523 or aaknapp@uark.edu.
