University of Arkansas Press Publishes 'All In' Guide to Competing for Top Academic Awards

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas Press has published All In: Expanding Access Through Nationally Competitive Awards ($17.50, paper), edited by Suzanne McCray, vice provost for enrollment and director of nationally competitive awards at the University of Arkansas.

All In helps readers navigate the ultra-competitive world of national and international scholarships. It combines the perspectives of scholarship foundation leaders, who have an insider’s view of the selection process, and experienced advisors, who provide guidance on how to assist students effectively as they approach applications and interviews. The collection also emphasizes the importance of engaging a diverse group of students, institutions, and programs in the process as well as expanding the educational experience for students as they apply.

Several of the essays in the book grew out of the 2011 National Association of Fellowships Advisors conference entitled “Broadening Opportunities, Encouraging Diversity.”

Suzanne McCray, also an associate professor in the College of Education and Health Professions, is the editor of three other books published by the University of Arkansas Press: Beyond Winning: National Scholarship Competitions and the Student Experience (2005); Nationally Competitive Scholarships: Serving Students and the Public Good (2007) and Leading the Way: Student Engagement and Nationally Competitive Awards (2009).
