UAPD to Test Tornado Siren Today, if Weather is Clear
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University Police will expand its weekly Tuesday test of the emergency campus siren on July 16, weather permitting.
The weekly test is normally done at 12:25 p.m. on Tuesdays, with a siren sounding and an announcement that “This is a test.” If the weather is clear on July 16 UAPD will follow normal test with a test of the actual tornado warning siren. The siren will sound for one minute, be silent for thirty seconds, sound again for one minute, be silent for another thirty seconds, then sound for one minute.
If the weather is stormy or in any way threatening, the tornado siren test will be cancelled to avoid confusion.
