Seeking Volunteers for University Housing Move-In Fall 2013

University Housing is looking for some great volunteers to assist with Move-In this year. It's hot work but great fun greeting our students as they move into their University of Arkansas home.

How can I help? Volunteers can help in a variety of ways — directing traffic, unloading cars, moving resident items up to their rooms, handing out and collecting paperwork and, most importantly, welcoming our students to their University of Arkansas home.

When can I help? Volunteers are needed for the assisted Move-In Day on Wednesday, Aug. 21. Volunteers are needed from 6:30 a.m. until noon. Preferred volunteer shift times are from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. until noon, but University Housing is willing to work with the schedules of our volunteers. Volunteers will be needed to assist at all of the residence halls and parking lots across campus on that day.

Who do I contact? You can sign up as an individual, an office, a registered student organization or a department. To sign up as a Move-In volunteer, please click on the registration link and complete the online form with the following information. (If you are signing up a group or team of volunteers, please complete one form for each volunteer.)

  • Name(s) of volunteer (or each member of volunteer group)
  • E-mail addresses for all volunteers
  • Department/Group/Organization
  • T-shirt sizes for all volunteers
  • Time you or your group wishes to volunteer
  • Medical restrictions (to help with your volunteer placement and assignment)
  • Any other special information or requests

University Housing will have a volunteer orientation luncheon prior to Move-In. At this luncheon, you will receive your (or your group's) T-shirt(s) and your volunteer assignment. You will be contacted by Felisha Perrodin at a later date to give you specific information about the time, date and location of the Move-In volunteer luncheon.
