Northwest Arkansas Alumni Chapter to Host Inaugural Pig Sooie 'Par-Tee' and Scramble

The Arkansas Alumni Association and the Northwest Arkansas Chapter invite the public to attend the inaugural Pig Sooie "Par-Tee" Kick-Off event and the Pig Sooie Scramble: Dollars for Scholars Golf Tournament Fundraiser.

The Pig Sooie "Par-Tee" will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at the Janelle Y. Hembree Alumni House. There will be food, drinks, a silent auction and raffle, a wine pull and more as they kick-off the 2013 Pig Sooie Scramble Golf Tournament. This event is open to the public and tickets are $5 each. Held at Stonebridge Meadows Golf Course in Fayetteville, alumni and friends are invited to attend a fun day of playing golf while supporting college students and getting the opportunity to play in the Acura College Alumni Championship in Pinehurst, N.C.

The Pig Sooie Scramble is a four-person scramble for 18 holes. Proceeds fund the scholarships awarded by the chapter each year, with $10,500 being awarded to seven students in 2012. Each year, rising juniors and seniors from the Northwest Arkansas area may apply and are chosen based on merit and need. As a sponsor, you will receive recognition on all printed and electronic materials utilized to promote the tournament. Opportunities for sponsorship are as follows:

  • Hole Sponsor: $100
  • Beverage Cart: $250
  • Junior Scholar: $250
  • Senior Scholar: $750
  • Top Scholar: $1,000
  • Title Sponsor: $1,500

Activities will begin at noon at Stonebridge Meadows at 3495 E. Goff Farm Road in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Lunch will be served at noon and the shotgun start will begin at 1 p.m.

The winning team will automatically advance to the Acura College Alumni Team Championship on Oct. 31-Nov. 3 in Pinehurst.
