ASG Fresh HOGS Application Now Available
The application period for the Fresh HOGS program is now open and closes at noon on Wednesday, Aug. 28. The application is available at asgforms.uark.edu. Students can log in with a valid uark.edu email address. Fresh HOGS is open for any freshman student entering in summer or fall 2013 who meets co-curricular requirements.
Fresh HOGS is the ASG premiere leadership program. The Freshmen Helping Our Government Succeed (Fresh HOGS) program is a year-long, comprehensive leadership and personal development program designed to integrate and introduce first-year students to student government and the shared governance process at the University of Arkansas. Students selected for Fresh HOGS commit to serve for one academic year.
Fresh HOGS participate in Senate and Judicial simulations, meet with university officials, serve office hours, sit on various committees, learn about leadership, and gain the tools and skills necessary to be future ASG leaders.
"Fresh HOGS is a great way for freshmen to get involved on campus. This interactive program seeks to develop leadership skills among the students involved, and is a wonderful opportunity to motivate students to succeed here at the University of Arkansas. The deadline for the applications is Aug. 28, and I would highly encourage all freshman to apply," said Hallie Waddell, Fresh HOGS coordinator.
