Global Campus Professional Development Network Moves to Rogers

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Global Campus professional development network has moved to a new location in Rogers, at 3300 Market St.  The network connects professionals with University of Arkansas faculty and local industry experts to provide continuing education and certification-building classes and workshops in face-to-face and online environments.

“Our new location allows us to expand our regional reach and grow our online audiences,” said Judith Tavano, director of professional development programs at the Global Campus.

Most of the network’s classes will originate as face-to-face sessions in the state-of-the-art distance learning classrooms inside the Pinnacle One Building. Many of those will be simulcast online via Blackboard Collaborate. Detailed information about learning opportunities that focus on human resources, employment regulations and workplace environments is available on the website or by contacting Tavano at jtavano@uark.edu or 479-464-5024.

Each fall and spring, the network provides in-person and online classes through the Society for Human Resource Management Learning System Course to help professionals prepare for certification exams and to keep their skills up to date. Other classes slated for fall 2013 include health care reform updates, hiring practices, workplace trends and employment law updates. Registration for classes and programs is available at globalcampus.uark.edu/pd.

“We are excited to introduce our students to all that the Global Campus has to offer under our Rogers roof and online,” Tavano said. “Situated across the hall from the Arkansas World Trade Center and adjacent to the computer training network, our team is now uniquely positioned to serve the needs of business, service and health care professions seeking to advance their careers.”

The Rogers location also facilitates face-to-face academic courses from the University of Arkansas, provides conference services, and houses the computer training network.

“The Rogers facility is delighted to add another dimension to putting ‘Students First,’” said Tara Dryer, Rogers coordinator. “Professional development in Rogers will help the University of Arkansas foster positive, educational interactions within the Benton County professional business community and will be a means of meeting the continuing educational needs of Northwest Arkansas and beyond.”

The Global Campus supports academic colleges and schools in the development and delivery of online, distance and professional education programs and classes.
