Fayetteville Police Department Bear Pickup

On Friday, Aug. 30, the University of Arkansas Bookstore held its second annual Build-A-Bear event. The Build-A-Bear event is an annual event that is held at the start of the fall semester before the first home football game in the U of A Bookstore. On that day, customers were invited to stop by the store to purchase, build, and keep a bear or build and donate a bear. All money raised from the purchase of the bears was donated to the University of Arkansas Full Circle Food Pantry and all donated bears were given to the Fayetteville Police Department.

Once the money and donated bears were counted, it was reported that the event raised $1,417.75 for the Full Circle Food Pantry and collected 59 bears for the Fayetteville Police Department. The Food Pantry will use the donated money to provide emergency food assistance for all members of the University of Arkansas community and the Fayetteville Police Department will use the donated bears to give to children to comfort during times of crisis.
