Retirement of Legacy Authentication System (LDAP)

This summer, IT Services improved user authentication services by implementing a faster and more stable system with greater redundancy.

When the legacy LDAP system is retired on Wednesday, September 25, looking up university email addresses from an email application will require using the Exchange Global Address Book. Older versions of Outlook and unsupported email applications configured to use acme.uark.edu or acme1.uark.edu to look up email addresses must be reconfigured to use the Exchange Global Address Book.

Those using older email applications for Exchange can contact their department tech partner (https://techarticles.uark.edu/tech_partners/list) for assistance using the Global Address Book to access university contacts.

Tech partners with applications still using the legacy LDAP system can contact IT Services at http://askit.uark.edu or 479-575-2905 for assistance connecting to the new system.
