FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Senior executives from Walmart, Procter & Gamble and Saatchi & Saatchi X will share their expertise at the 13th annual Emerging Trends in Retailing conference conducted by the Center for Retailing Excellence at the Sam M. Walton College of Business on Oct. 30.

“The program is designed to provide you with innovative ideas to enable your company to maximize its business with the world’s largest retailer in-store and online,” said Claudia Mobley, executive director of the Center for Retailing Excellence. “Executive leadership from Walmart, Procter & Gamble and Saatchi & Saatchi X will deliver an in-depth presentation through real case studies that demonstrate concepts of strategy and planning through to execution in store. Those attending will discover many new ideas and leave with renewed energy and sense of purpose.”

The event will be held at the Donald W. Reynolds Center for Enterprise Development on the University of Arkansas campus.

Unique to this year’s conference is a Walmart panel moderated by Scott Huff, senior vice president and general merchandise manager of consumables. Panelists include Walmart vice presidents and divisional merchandise managers: Tony Airoso, dairy and fresh; Al Dominguez, household paper goods and chemicals; Joe Grady, candy and impulse merchandising; Heather Mayo, grocery and snacks, Sam’s Club; Kevin Pate, consumer electronics; and Latriece Watkins, merchandising, adult beverages.

Topics at this year’s event will focus on innovative business planning, e-commerce and the consumer. Mobley pointed out that information distributed at the conference will be exclusive to this event with no proceedings issued. “Only by attending will individuals obtain this material,” she said.

Duncan MacNaughton, executive vice president and chief merchandising and marketing officer, Walmart U.S., and chairman of the center’s executive board of directors, will give a wrap-up and perspective on the current retail business and where board members see the business in the next year.

Seating is limited for this special event. To register, visit the Center for Retailing Excellence website and follow the registration link for secure registration.

The Center for Retailing Excellence was established in the Walton College in 1998 with a portion of the $50 million endowment from the Walton Family Charitable Support Foundation.

The center focuses on developing future leaders and serves as a bridge between academics and the retail industry.
