Architect Kevin McClurkan to Present Lecture on Oct. 15 in Little Rock

Kevin McClurkan will present a lecture titled “Threads: Ennead Architects’ Recent Works” on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at the Arkansas Arts Center, 501 E. 9th St., in Little Rock. The lecture will begin at 6 p.m. in the center’s Lecture Hall, following a 5:30 p.m. reception.
This lecture is part of the Architecture and Design Network’s 2013-2014 Art of Architecture lecture series.
A New York-based architect with Arkansas roots, McClurkan received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the Fay Jones School of Architecture in Fayetteville, where, in 1983, he received the Edward Durell Stone Award for Excellence in Design. He is a founding partner and management principal of Ennead Architects in New York.
McClurkan has continued to earn awards – a prestigious national American Institute of Architects Honor Award among them. His commitment to design excellence, supported by technical innovation, is the hallmark of his work. The William J. Clinton Presidential Center in Little Rock; the Newseum/Freedom Forum Foundation headquarters in Washington, D.C.; Tisch School of the Arts at New York University; and the Dickinson School of Law at Pennsylvania State University are among the firm’s recent award-winning projects.
McClurkan is currently working with Polk Stanley Wilcox Architects in Little Rock on the renovation and expansion of that city’s Robinson Center.
He also is a member of the Fay Jones School’s Professional Advisory Board.
The 2013-14 Art of Architecture lecture series is sponsored by the Architecture and Design Network, a non-profit organization, with support from the Central Arkansas Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, the Arkansas Arts Center and the Fay Jones School of Architecture.
