FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Donations totaling $19,398 have been made in the first weeks of the Hogs United campaign in support of the United Way of Northwest Arkansas. And that doesn’t include money raised by students during last week’s Homecoming events.

The donations have all come through the secure portal on the Hogs United website at http://hogsunited.uark.edu/.  The portal provides safe, individual access to the easy to use donation page on the United Way of Northwest Arkansas website.

On that page there is more than one way to make a donation.

Once  a faculty or staff member decides to give, it can be done through  payroll deduction (with a choice of having deductions made from 1, 9 or 12 pay checks);  by cash or check; by making a pledge and having the United Way  send a bill, again with several payment options; it's even possible to donate stocks or securities.

"Hogs United has a goal of raising $150,000 by Nov. 30, and the campaign has entered its second quarter," said Debbie McLoud, campaign coordinator. "But the success of the campaign depends less on how much each person gives – it depends on how many people choose to give to the United Way of Northwest Arkansas and the people it supports through the year."
