FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas public radio station, KUAF 91.3 FM, kicks off its fall on-air fundraiser today, which will run until Thursday, Oct. 31.

"I value the perspective I get from KUAF," said Dan Ferritor, who has been donating to the station for 20 years. "They provide context for national news as well as local stories that I don't hear anywhere else. KUAF is an important community resource that I am thrilled to support. "

Pledges may be made by calling 479-575-5823 or online at supportkuaf.com to help the station reach its $200,000 goal.

"We look forward to our on-air fundraisers every fall and spring," said Rick Stockdell, KUAF station manager. "Supporters call us from all over the state and across the country. It's nice to know that so many people use and appreciate the service we provide."

Volunteers will be on hand to answer phones and take payments and pledges. More than a dozen area restaurants will contribute food and refreshments for volunteers throughout the event.

The station has more than 3,300 annual donors and receives nearly 70 percent of its annual funding from membership and underwriting. It reaches a weekly audience of 60,000 listeners throughout northwest Arkansas, southern Missouri, eastern Oklahoma and the River Valley.
