Professor of Internal Medicine to Give Talk on Heat Stress

Craig Crandall, professor of internal medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, will speak Nov. 6 on the University of Arkansas campus.
Lunch will be served during the lecture at noon Wednesday, Nov. 6, in the Graduate Education Building auditorium titled "Control of skin blood flow during hemorrhage and heat stress: a 'choice' between heat dissipation and blood pressure control."
RSVP is required by emailing jxa014@uark.edu. The deadline to submit an RSVP is 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5.
The lecture is first in the 2013-14 Hydration Lecture Series presented by the Human Performance Laboratory in the College of Education and Health Professions.
Crandall obtained his doctorate in physiology under the direction of Dr. Peter Raven at the University of North Texas Health Science Center-Fort Worth. He then completed post-doctoral studies under the guidance of Dr. John Johnson at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
He directs the Thermal and Vascular Physiology Laboratory at the Institute for Exercise and Environmental Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
