Planned Power Outage on Dec. 1 to Affect Campus Internet

Due to construction, a planned campuswide power outage is scheduled from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1. IT Services recommends that all on-campus computer workstations be powered off before students, faculty and staff leave for Thanksgiving break on Wednesday, Nov. 27.

During the power outage, wired and wireless Internet access will be unavailable in most areas of campus. IT Services anticipates that most applications and services like ISIS, webBASIS, Blackboard, email, SharePoint and the university Web presence will remain available for off-campus users.

The General Access Computing Lab in the Administrative Services building will be open during the outage. The Mullins Library computer lab will open at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 1.

Should there be any service interruptions or outages that occur after power is restored at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 1, report them at askit.uark.edu or by calling 479-575-2904.
