Road Project Ribbon-Cutting to Be Held at Research Park
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Arkansas Research and Technology
Park, operated by the University of Arkansas Technology Development Foundation,
will be the site of a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, Nov. 25, to celebrate
the completion of improvements to nearby Cato Springs Road.
The City of Fayetteville is hosting the event at 2:30 p.m. at the east entrance of the research park on Cato Springs Road in south Fayetteville. The project upgraded Cato Springs between Razorback Road, which is also Arkansas 112, and South School Avenue, also U.S. 71B.
The $3.8 million project was designed by the engineering firm Garver and constructed by Dean Crowder Construction Inc. The project was made possible by a $2.9 million federal aid earmark that was secured by a joint effort of the City of Fayetteville and the University of Arkansas. The city paid the remainder of the project costs through the Transportation Bond Program and water and sewer funding, and the university provided a significant contribution by donating the right of way along its street frontage.
