Planned Power Outage on Jan. 5 to Affect Campus Internet

Due to the construction of Champions Hall, a planned campuswide power outage is scheduled from 2 to 3 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 5. IT Services recommends that all on-campus computer workstations be powered off before faculty and staff leave on Friday, Jan. 3.

During the power outage, wired and wireless Internet access will be unavailable in most areas of campus. IT Services anticipates that most applications and services like ISIS, webBASIS, MyDocs, email, SharePoint and the university Web presence will remain available for off-campus users.

The General Access Computing Lab in the Administrative Services building will be open during the outage with University ID card access. The Student Technology Center and the computer labs in the Arkansas Union and Mullins Library will open at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 5.

Should there be any service interruptions or outages that occur after power is restored at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, report them at askit.uark.edu or by calling 479-575-2904.
