Chancellor Gearhart Invited to Attend White House Education Event

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – University of Arkansas Chancellor G. David Gearhart has been invited to attend a day-long event at the White House that will be focused on new actions aimed at increasing college opportunity. The event is hosted by President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama and will begin at 9 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16.

“This is a very exciting opportunity to discuss higher education policy with members of the Obama administration,” said Gearhart. “Increasing college opportunity for Arkansas students is obviously one of our top goals at the University of Arkansas, and it is a necessity across the country as well. I am eager to hear the administration’s ideas and to share what we are doing in Arkansas.”
