University Recreation will welcome back students to the spring semester with “Back to Fitness Week,” beginning Monday, Jan. 27, through Thursday, Jan. 30. “Back to Fitness Week” is a four-day series of events that encourage healthy and active lifestyles, as well as provide a chance for UREC members to discover different program area opportunities within the department.

“We want to show the U of A community the diversity of programs that UREC offers its members to stay fit,” said Jade Dworkin, university recreation fitness and wellness graduate assistant. “From small group training to learning how to swim, there is something for everyone to partake in.”

During “Back to Fitness Week”, members who participate in group fitness classes will receive giveaways. Those interested in small group training may partake in free class demonstrations from 3:30-4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, and 4:15-4:45 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, from in the Arkansas Union Connections Lounge.

Those interested in developing their fitness on their own can receive guidance in setting a workout plan from UREC personal trainers in the Arkansas Union Connections Lounge from 3-6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29.

The UREC Expo is the largest event of the week. The expo will take place from 5:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, in HPER Gym 1. This free event will feature games, crate-stacking, group fitness classes, food, and more! UREC program areas, such as intramural sports, club sports, and the outdoor connection center will be highlighted to discuss what opportunities are available to UREC members.
