Jeong-Weon Kim to Present Seminar at Food Science Department
Jeong-Weon Kim, associate professor in the department of science and technology education for life, Seoul National University of Education, Seoul, Korea, will present "Trends in Nutrition, Health and Dietary Education in Korea" at 3:05 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, in Room D-2 of the Food Science Building, 2650 N. Young Avenue.
Kim earned her Bachelor of Science (1984) and Master of Science (1986) degrees from Seoul National University, Korea. She earned her doctoral degree in 1992 from the department of food science at Pennsylvania State University. From 1992-1996, she conducted food safety research at the University of Arkansas department of poultry science. Because Korea is rapidly changing into a multicultural society, Kim's research now focuses on multicultural education in school curriculum. In addition to her research on food and nutrition education, she teaches elementary education students and teachers in Seoul. She is currently visiting the U of A food science department as a visiting scholar.
