University Recreation is offering a “How to” series that involves one-hour classes that break down the moves and prepare participants for some of the most popular group fitness formats.

“Building the knowledge base of a group fitness format is an important foundation for all group fitness participants,” said Jade Dworkin, graduate assistant for the UREC fitness and wellness programs.  “Through taking these classes, participants will build a solid foundation by learning the skills and terminology presented in a variety of our group fitness classes,” said Dworkin.

The classes are free to all students and UREC members and no registration is required.  Participants will be required to fill out a group fitness waiver upon attendance in the class.

Scheduled classes:

  • How to: Zumba – Sunday, Feb. 16 from 5-6pm in HPER 216
  • How to: Yoga – Sunday, March 2 from 5-6pm in HPER 216
  • How to:  Cardio/Strength – Sunday, March 9 from 5-6pm in HPER 216
