ISIS Announces a New Method for Requesting Access

Requesting ISIS access just got easier! The paper form that has been used for several years has been replaced by a new, automated process where everything related to a security request occurs within the ISIS system. There is no form to download, no signatures to track down, and no fax machine required.

The new process for requesting and receiving administrative security in ISIS has only five steps: a supervisor submits a request by completing an on-line form in ISIS; employment status is verified; the designated unit director approves the request; security is set; and the new user receives an e-mail with instructions for logging into ISIS.

“We are pleased to have the new ISIS security request available to our campus administrative users,” said Dave Dawson, associate vice provost for enrollment services and registrar. “This request is much easier to submit and the process is streamlined so security can be assigned faster. Plus, the new on-line form supports our campus sustainability efforts.”

The new request also features a change in the authorization process. Previously, two signatures were required for departmental and dean/director approval. The new format requires only the on-line approval of the designated unit director, usually the same person who previously signed for dean/director approval.

Another improvement sends the new approved request simultaneously to all areas where security is requested. This change allows the request to be processed at a faster rate, allowing the employee access in ISIS more quickly.

The new, improved ISIS security process is used to request access for a new full-time or part-time employee, to add access to an existing user, or to have security removed when an employee leaves the budgetary unit that originally requested it.

More information, including detailed instructions for submitting an ISIS security request and steps for completing the designated unit director approval, is located under the security section on the ISIS Help website, http://isishelp.uark.edu.
