University of Arkansas Air Force ROTC Ranked Among Top 10 in Nation Academically

FAYETTEVILLE -- Members of the University of Arkansas Air Force ROTC Detachment 030 – the ThunderHAWGS – have scored impressively both academically and physically. The ThunderHAWGS achieved an impressive 3.32 Grade Point Average for the fall semester, led by nine cadets who earned perfect 4.0 GPAs. The ThunderHAWGS ranked 9th out of 145 detachments nationwide, up from their 34th place ranking one year ago.

On the fitness front, the cadets have made a commitment to CrossFit-style workouts, which helped them post a 95.6 (out of 100) average fitness test score, helping them jump from 48th in the nation to 21st place this year.

The ThunderHAWGS also recently received the High Flight Award, marking them as the best small Air Force ROTC detachment in the Southwest Region.
