FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Applications to be a member for the Student Organization Outreach and Involvement Experience (SOOIE) executive board are due Monday, March 31, by 5 p.m. to the office of student activities in the Arkansas Union.

Interviews will be held April 10 and 11. More information, e-mail rso@uark.edu.

SOOIE is a University Organization that has two main parts: outreach and involvement.

Under outreach, SOOIE members work with different registered student organizations (RSOs) to help them be more successful. This could involve facilitating team builders, consulting with the RSO, or leading a workshop or retreat. For instance, if an RSO is having trouble with recruiting new members, SOOIE members would be able to work with the RSO to develop a recruitment plan.

Under involvement, SOOIE members will help any new and/or un-involved students find an RSO that meets their interests. SOOIE will host an involvement table on a regular basis, and students can sign up for one-on-one appointments with SOOIE members to find an RSO.

SOOIE is a great way for students to get involved and make a difference in the RSO community for current and future students.  Students interested in applying for the Executive Board must be a full time enrolled student and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.25.

The positions available are president, vice president, treasurer, coordinator for officer development programs, coordinator for public relations, coordinator for awards and recognition, and coordinator for involvement.
