University of Arkansas to Participate in Workplace Excellence Survey

As part of the goal of recognition as one of the nation's Top 50 Public Research Universities, the University of Arkansas is participating in the 2014 Great Colleges to Work For Program. This is sponsored by the Chronicle of Higher Education and ModernThink LLC, a research and consulting firm that focuses on workplace excellence.

Part of the program involves an employee survey distributed to a random sample of each institution's full-time faculty, administrators, exempt and non-exempt staff. An invitation to take this survey was distributed by ModernThink LLC to a random selection of U of A employees on March 17. The deadline to complete the survey is Monday, April 14. The Great Colleges Program recognizes colleges and universities that are successful in their efforts to create the best possible work environments. The survey provides feedback to help guide our continuous effort to create the best workplace possible and the value of the survey depends on participation by the randomly selected group. To ensure the confidentiality of responses, the surveys will be processed entirely by ModernThink LLC. The university will not receive any information that would enable anyone to identify the survey results of any one individual.

If you are one of the faculty or staff members selected to participate, please take the time to fill out the survey. A high response rate helps ensure accurate results and demonstrates the commitment of our workforce. The results will be factored into the overall scoring process that will ultimately determine the institutions recognized. The Chronicle will publish the findings this summer in a special Academic Workplace supplement, due to be released at the end of July.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact the U of A's survey coordinator, Leah Williams, leahw@uark.edu 575-7618, or visit www.ChronicleGreatColleges.com.
