The University Recreation club sports program, in association with the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, Phi Iota Alpha, LULAC, and Mortar Board, is hosting the second annual Cesar Chavez Blood Drive on Thursday, April 3. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Gym 2 of the HPER Building and is benefiting the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks. Anyone can donate and interested participants are encouraged to schedule an appointment to donate at www.donate.cbco.org.

In addition to donating blood, participants are encouraged to sign up to be a donor for Be The Match, an organization managing the world's largest bone marrow registry, through a simple DNA swab. More information about Be The Match can be found online at www.bethematch.org or at the Blood Drive event.

Anyone participating in the Blood Drive will receive a free T-shirt, snacks, and pizza. Additionally, individual Club Sport teams are competing to see who can get the most donors for their team. Clubs will be competing for points for a successful donation earning a club three points.
