Team to Represent University of Arkansas at Values and Ventures Business Plan Competition

A student team representing the University of Arkansas will compete April 11-12 at the Richards Barrentine Values and Ventures Business Plan Competition at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth.

Bobotic Solutions, which is developing a container and robot that automate one of the few areas in a pathology lab that is not yet automated, includes Michael Iseman, a senior finance major in the Sam M. Walton College of Business, and Aundria Eoff, a senior biomedical engineering student in the College of Engineering. The third team member is Rachel Zweig from Hendrix College.

Students from 24 U.S. universities and from Canada, Croatia, Mexico, the Netherlands and Scotland are competing for more than $70,000 in cash prizes at the event at the Neely School of Business at TCU. More than 50 business leaders will serve as judges and mentors.

All teams will present Friday, April 11, in five simultaneous flights. The top team from each flight will advance to the final competition Saturday, April 12, along with the top two teams chosen from a lightning round Friday afternoon of the second-place teams from each flight. Finalist presentations also will take place Saturday. All teams choose one representative to compete in an elevator pitch competition Saturday.

The competition carries a grand prize of $25,000, with second place receiving $15,000, third place $10,000 and four honorable mention awards of $2,500 each. The elevator pitch competition carries a first-place prize of $1,000, with second place receiving $500 and third $250.
