Fans Invited to Join Razorbacks for 2014 HOGSPY Awards

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Fans are invited to join their favorite University of Arkansas student-athletes and coaches in celebrating a memorable year in Razorback Athletics at the third annual HOGSPY Awards ceremony on April 21 at 7:30 p.m. at the Walton Arts Center. Tickets are now available for purchase for $20 online at waltonartscenter.org.

"I want to invite Razorback fans to join us as we celebrate our more than 460 Razorback student-athletes and their tremendous accomplishments," said Jeff Long, vice chancellor and director of athletics. "The HOGSPY Awards have quickly become a signature event for Razorback Athletics. It promises to be a memorable evening that highlights the extraordinary young men and women who compete in their respective sports and represent our entire state as student-athletes at the University of Arkansas."

Members of the University of Arkansas' Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will once again plan the event and serve as award presenters for the 2014 HOGSPY Awards.

The HOGSPY Awards will recognize the best in athletics, academics, leadership and community service. Individual awards will to be presented to one male and one female include student-athletes of the year, rookie of the year, scholar-athlete of the year, and the Burlsworth Award. Other individual awards include play of the year, comeback athlete of the year and top graduating student-athlete of the year.

Team awards will recognize the academic team of the year, the Hog Tough performance of the year, the Lee Spencer Cup recipient and the top athletic team of the year. A new award has been added to the program and will be presented to the top Razorback coach from the past year.
