On Wednesday, April 16, the University of Arkansas community will come together to say thanks to the many benefactors who support the university financially. The third annual Thank a Donor Day, organized by the office of annual programs within University Development, will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Arkansas Union mall.

The purpose of Thank a Donor Day is to bring visibility to the many gifts from alumni, friends, parents and the university's very own faculty, staff and students, all of which enhance the YOU of A experience each year. “Thank a Donor Day is quickly becoming an exciting new tradition on campus,” said Rachel Krest, director of annual programs. “When students learn about all the areas donors support, they instinctively want to say thank you, and this event provides an opportunity for them to do just that.”

During this celebration of philanthropy, students and employees are invited to sign a gigantic thank you card or record a short video message, and students can pick up a free soda, scantron and pencil while supplies last. Members of the campus community who RSVP for the event on Facebook will also be entered to win a Razorback jersey, donated by the University of Arkansas Bookstore, or a $20 gift card, donated by Belle Boutique. Everyone is invited to join in the fun and show their gratitude!

A philanthropy photo scavenger hunt is also being held in conjunction with Thank a Donor Day.  Daily photo challenges are being posted on the University of Arkansas Annual Fund Facebook page, and students can post pictures to the page through Wednesday night for a chance to win some awesome prizes.  Two winners will be selected each day, and all participants will be entered into the grand-prize drawing for SteelSeries Flux In-Ear headphones — a $50 value — at the end of the week.  Other prizes include Razorback T-shirts, Fayettechill apparel, a Belle Boutique gift card and free food donated by Qdoba Fayetteville!

For more information on the contest or the event, please visit the Thank a Donor Day event page on Facebook.
