Emily Podzielinski, April Student Leader of the Month

Senior Emily Podzielinski has been selected as the Student Leader of the Month for April. Originally from Noblesville, Indiana, Podzielinski came to the University of Arkansas to major in recreation and sport management. Emily is a member of the Razorback women’s golf team and serves as events chair for the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. She also participates in various service opportunities provided by the athletic department. Podzielinski currently works as an intern for Octagon, a company that runs the LPGA Walmart Northwest Arkansas Championship presented by P&G in Rogers.

When asked why she made the decision to get involved on campus, Podzielinski said, “I love to be involved in things that make a difference. SAAC has given me the opportunity to be a voice for student-athletes and to meet other people from different sports teams. We were able to create an event this year called ‘Rock Out with the Razorbacks,’ a variety show put on by different sports teams that raised money for the Yvonne Richardson Center. Whether it’s making a big or small difference, the ability to make an impact in the community and in others’ lives is what I enjoy most about being involved.”

The Student Leader of the Month award, sponsored by New Student & Family Programs, recognizes University of Arkansas undergraduate students for their excellence in leadership through campus involvement, leadership activities, or through volunteer and community service.
