College of Engineering Outstanding Senior Lindsay Hoggatt receives an award from Dean John English.

The College of Engineering recognized several students at its Student Awards and Honors Reception on Tuesday, April 28.

“I’m very happy to be here honoring the top students in the College of Engineering,” said John English, dean of the College of Engineering. “These students have all worked very hard, and they all have exciting futures ahead of them.”

Nine students received Outstanding Senior Awards from their departments: Russell Bair in biological and agricultural engineering, Gage Greening in biomedical engineering, Lindsay Hoggatt in chemical engineering, William Bouillon in computer engineering, Thomas Slatton in computer science, Courtney Hill in civil engineering, Ross Liederbach in electrical engineering, Joseph Castrodale in industrial engineering and Bryce Carlton in mechanical engineering. Lindsay Hoggatt was selected as the Outstanding Senior for the college.

Jesse Evans received the George and Marion Branigan Senior Engineering Scholarship, which goes to the rising engineering senior with the highest grade point average, and John Dominick III was recognized for being selected as a Presidential Scholar by the university.

Twelve students were recognized as a First Ranked Senior Scholar for having achieved a 4.0 grade point average for coursework completed on this campus: Katy Accurso, Russell Bair, Christopher Bayles, Brent Bell, Hannah Corbitt, William Curbow, Nicholas Kordsmeier, Ross Liederbach, Christopher Martindale, Frederick McCollum and Thomas Slatton. Weston Barger received the Senior Scholar Award, for maintaining a 4.0 grade point average that included transfer credits.

Five students received Porter Stone Coop Award, which is given to engineering students who have excelled in cooperative education: Hayley Archer, Lindsey Gray, Lindsay Hoggatt, Kelli Schlais and Nadia Smith.
