University of Arkansas Theatre Showcases Talent and Humor With Student Shows

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Students take center stage for the department of drama’s annual Original One-Person Shows and Comedy Improv. Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. June 26 and 27 in Studio 404 on the fourth floor of Kimpel Hall at the University of Arkansas.
The Original One-Person Shows are works-in-progress that include a mix of comedy, drama and musical entertainment. Performers will show off their wide range of talents as each show is written, directed and acted by students.
Following the one-person shows, the performance continues with Comedy Improv. Performers trained by department of drama faculty member Kris Stoker will create characters and entire story lines based on audience suggestions. With no lines, no props and no sets, students will be armed with just their creativity.
The department of drama in the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences presents these summer shows featuring students in comedy improv and the one-person show class. Each night will include performances in both forms.
