FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Luis Restrepo, assistant vice chancellor for diversity and community, has been named as a University of Arkansas representative to the Walton Arts Center Council. His three year-term was recently approved by the U of A System Board of Trustees.

“Considering the creative impact that the Walton Arts Center has had in Northwest Arkansas, it is truly an honor to serve in the council representing the university,” said Restrepo. “As an educator and a humanities scholar I cherish all forms of creative expression and their ability to enrich our lives.”

Restrepo joins Mike Johnson, associate vice chancellor for facilities and Matt Trantham, senior associate athletic director for internal operations, who were both reappointed to the council. Associate Vice Chancellor Judy Schwab and David Gay, University Professor of economics in the Sam M. Walton College of Business, also serve as U of A representatives on the 19-member governing body of the Walton Arts Center.
