Hughes Joins Center for Retailing Excellence

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Synetra Hughes is joining the Center for Retailing Excellence at the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas as a program manager.

“We are thrilled to have Synetra Hughes join our team,” said Claudia Mobley, director of the Center for Retailing Excellence. “Her extensive background in retail, supply chain and consumer packaged goods will be a huge asset for our staff, faculty and students.”

With 10 years of experience in the retail/consumer packaged goods industry, Hughes has held positions in the supply chain, replenishment and retail analysis areas with Abbott Laboratories, Walmart and Sam’s Club. Most recently, Hughes worked for Kraft Foods in customer planning, forecasting and replenishment. 

At the Center for Retailing Excellence, Hughes will develop and manage student and professional development programs with a focus on analysis and consumer insights. As program manager, she will collaborate with industry and faculty to develop extracurricular programs and curriculum that enhance the academic experience of students at the University of Arkansas and connect those students to the retail industry.

Hughes earned her doctorate from the University of Arkansas in Workforce Development Education. She earned a Master of Business Administration from Webster University in St. Louis and her Bachelor of Science in information systems and transportation and logistics from Walton College.
