FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Susan Sedberry has been named managing director for the retail operations lab at the Center for Retailing Excellence and the Supply Chain Management Research Center in the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas.

“Susan has extensive research and analysis experience in the retail, consumer packaged goods and consumer behavior industries,” said Claudia Mobley, director of the Center for Retailing Excellence. “She is perfectly poised to develop and design our retail operations lab to further our forecasting, predictive modeling, research and academic learning programs. She is a wonderful addition to our team.”

Sedberry comes to Walton College from Crossmark, where she served as a senior director of business insights. She has held research and analytical positions with the Nielsen Co., Eli Lilly and Co. and Marsh Supermarkets, among others.

At the retail operations lab, Sedberry will work to develop and design a retail space and operations component to support the academic and professional development programs for faculty, staff, students and industry. The lab will support retail equipment, technology and consumer behavior research and will provide a working model retail system.

Sedberry earned a bachelor’s degree in management and administration from Indiana University. She is a former member of the advisory board of the Center for Retailing Excellence and was named a Top Women in Grocery Award winner by Progressive Grocer Magazine in 2013.
